The President of the Lebanese University, Professor Fouad Ayoub, signed a cooperation agreement with the President of Beirut Marathon Association, Mrs. May El Khalil, at the Central Administration Building - Museum.

The agreement aims to spread and promote the concepts of volunteer work, jogging, skills development, experiences and information exchange, and benefit from training courses and joint activities between the two parties.

During the signing ceremony, President Ayoub welcomed every joint activity that contributes to sports motivation and the spread of sports culture among young people, noting that the Lebanese University has a special department for sports activities. Thus, this agreement will open new opportunities for cooperation with civil society institutions that are complementary to the university's objectives, particularly in promoting the concept of volunteering, raising awareness, offering healthy lifestyles and developing skills.

President Ayoub pointed out that the Lebanese University was one of the first universities to establish a specialization in Physical Education and Sports in the Faculty of Pedagogy, and to contribute to the development of students' athletic capabilities and interests through the Sports Activity Department, highlighting the opening of the Lebanese University Fitness Club, last March.

President Ayoub revealed that the Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture and the Faculty of Pedagogy will actively participate in the Beirut Marathon - 2019.

For her part, Mrs. El Khalil expressed her pride in the Lebanese University, which represents the nation in all its components and regions.

Besides, she confirmed that Beirut Marathon Association relies in the successes of its activities on a group of partners who believe in the system of national and human values, and among these partners, there is the Lebanese University, which is joining today to form an ambitious partnership.

In conclusion, she thanked the Lebanese University, wishing success to the two partners in favor of young Lebanese people.
