The President of the Lebanese University, Professor Fouad Ayoub received the new classification certificate of the Lebanese University during his participation in the “QS World University Ranking - Arab Region 2020”. The Lebanese University made progress in the Arab University Rankings and ranked among the top 4 universities in Lebanon and the top 25 universities in the Arab world.
The event was hosted by the United Arab Emirates on 31 October 2019, in the presence of the Mr. Ashwin Fernandez, Regional Director ‐ Middle East, North Africa & South Asia, and under the patronage and presence of Dr. Ahmad bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, the UAE Cabinet Member and Minister of State for Higher Education.
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a UK-based global organization, based its evaluation on a set of positive data for the new classification of the Lebanese University, most notably the higher education level of university professors, the good academic reputation, the excellent reputation in the labor market and the extensive online presence.
This advanced result comes despite the recent participation of the Lebanese University in the classification after focusing on the institutional accreditation obtained last year by the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES). The University has set within its strategy to address some gaps to raise its rating in the following year, mainly related to research, which still need a connection to the search engines worldwide, despite their availability.
