Stephanie Doumit studied Political Science in the Bachelor’s degree and worked for years as flight attendant, but her key ambition remained inclined towards social organizations, which prompted her to pursue her Master’s degree in International Organizations. She prepared a thesis focusing on her experience with HelpAge India entitled “Geriatric Help in India: achievements and challenges” for which she received a very good recognition.
Stephanie graduated from the Lebanese University - Faculty of Law, Political & Administrative Sciences (BA in Political Science in 2010 and Master in International Organizations in 2019). She discussed her Master’s thesis in December 2019 after living a “unique” experience with HelpAge charity to help Elderly and provide them with social and health care in India, the second largest country in the world in terms of population.
Stephanie, who is in Budapest for work, says: "I lost one of my friends because of cancer, and this was an incentive for me to care for social work and help the sick and the elderly. I worked as a flight attendant for a while, saved money and traveled to India to complete a field study that I later presented as my Master’s thesis. Today, I am pursuing language study in Hungary and I will apply to work in international social organizations even as a volunteer.” She adds that she learned responsibility and acquired comprehensiveness from the Lebanese University, learning from her professors, including Dr. Amal Saad, who supervised her Master’s thesis.
Stephanie concludes: “I hope Lebanon will regain the stability so I can return and work to promote social and health care for those in need, and develop laws that protect the rights of citizens, namely the elderly."
It is noteworthy that the Indian newspaper "Gomantak Times" interviewed Stephanie in which she spoke about her experience with "HelpAge" in Goa.
