Coaches Saleh Zaiter and Ahmed Hazer are supervising the preparations of 50 athlete students, in preparation for the selection of those qualified to participate in the annual competitions and scheduled tournaments, as well as the competitions organized by the Lebanese Federation of University Sport and other universities. The exercises are taking place at the Rafik Hariri University Campus – Hadath.

The athletics team at the Lebanese University won distinguished results in last season’s championships, including 16 titles in the Lebanese University Championship, and Mohamed Mortada (Faculty of Science) and Serge Artoun (Faculty of Education) were selected as part of the Lebanese delegation to Universiade Naples organized last July, and Hazer trained a team formed from eight universities.

Mohamed Mortada finished 4th in the second round of the 400m race (49,46 seconds), and 40 among 55 runners. He also scored a new record in the 200m race (22,12 seconds) and finished 5th in the second group of playoffs, and 41st among 69 runners. Serge Artoun passed 6,67 meters in the long jump, ranking 35th among 40 jumpers.
