The Lebanese University participated in a Study Visit hosted by the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) from 1-5 October 2018. The event took place within the framework of the EU-funded Refugee Education Support in MENA (RESCUE) project, which aims to assist Syrian refugee students in Higher Education.
The visit, coordinated by the Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED), included an overview of activities and German preparatory courses and online courses offered by the University to the refugees, and support for women in the fields of engineering, science and technology (STEM Professions). It also included field visits to several German institutions concerned with refugees, to explore their role in providing those refugees with Higher Education opportunities, counseling, psychological support, and other public services to help them integrate into society.

- KIRON (Open Higher Education for Refugees) Commissioner for Integration and Migration
- Federal Employment Agency
- General Counseling for Migrants in Berlin
The delegation of the Lebanese University included Racha Ismail (International Relations Office), Vanessa Sarkis (Office of Teaching Languages), and Hadi Ramal (Office of Vocational Guidance for Students).
Five universities from three countries participated in this visit, namely the Lebanese University, Zarqa, Zaytouna and Yarmouk University from Jordan, and the University of Dohuk from Iraq.
