The students (Shant Chilingirian, Ranime Zotti, Valeria Mekhjian, Cizel Rabah, Claudia Kiameh) of the Lebanese University – Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture (Branch 1 – Master (2), Interior Design) received a Special Recognition from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
The UN recognition was awarded to the Lebanese University (LU) team following their participation in the Urban Design Competition, during which their project was selected among the five first feasible projects.
The team supervised by Dr. Farah El Zein, presented an integrated project providing a gathering space in al Mina, Tripoli entitled “LivING al Mina”. The Jury of the competition enjoyed the concept behind the proposal, in which several universities from Lebanon and professional engineers participated.
The President of the Lebanese University, Prof. Fouad Ayoub received the winning team headed by Dr. El Zein at the LU Central Administration building – Al Mathaf, and congratulated them on the new achievement added to the Golden record of the Lebanese University students, wishing them success in their future projects.
It is noted that the Municipality of al Mina, Tripoli, a member of the Jury showed its readiness to implement the project after availability of the necessary funding.
