After the success of its 1st edition, which was organized last year at the American University of Beirut (AUB), the 2nd national conference on "Materials Science and Innovative Applications" was held at the Lebanese University - Faculty of Science (Branch 2), on 2 May 2019.

The university administration, represented by the Faculty Dean, Professor Bassam Badran, and the Faculty Director, Professor Youssef Zaatar, contributed to the success of the conference, in addition to the efforts of the conference organizing committee composed of the Faculty materials science professors.

The conference, during which the opening speech was delivered by the organizing committee representative, Professor Jihan Jabbour Tawk, was attended by 51 researchers from the Lebanese University and private universities in Lebanon.
