A new scientific achievement by the professors and students of the Lebanese University recorded through the Laboratory of Applied Studies for Sustainable Development and Renewable Energy (LEADDER) of the Doctoral School of Science and Technology headed by Professor Joumana Toufaily.
The international journal “Sensors and Actuators” published part of a doctoral dissertation on "environmental pollution" prepared by the student Abir Swaidan in cooperation with the University of Lille, France and under the supervision of Professor Joumana Toufaily, specialist in environmental pollutants and methods of treatment of water and household waste.
The research team, composed of Swaidan and the supervising professors, worked on their experiments and research at the LEADDER laboratory and Laboratory of Materials, Catalysis, Environment and Analytical Methods (MCEMA) at the Lebanese University - Faculty of Sciences in partnership with the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) in India. The study tackled environmental problems such as water pollution and stressed the importance of inventing environmentally friendly materials that can control contaminants, no matter how small they were.
