The students, Yara Nawfal of the Lebanese University – Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture (Branch 2 – Graphic Design & Visual Communication) ranked first in the national contest organized by the Ministry of Environment to select the best logo that reflects the slogan of the Arab Environment Day 2019 entitled “Our waste, an endangered wealth”. The Ministry of Environment organized the contest in a ceremony held under the presence of Minister of Environment Mr. Fadi Jreissati, the Lebanese University President Professor Fouad Ayoub, representatives of the participating universities, professors and students.
The jury selected ten logos out of thirty-four and the Lebanese University ranked first with the logo of Nawfal. The student Naomi Baaklini of the Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture (Branch 2) was also selected among the top ten finalists in the contest.
The contest was dedicated to university students, interested citizens, advertising companies and independent persons and the winning logo will be disseminated to all Arab countries for adoption at the 2019 Arab Environment Day celebrations.
