21/9/2020 - The Lebanese University graduate Dr. Azzam Alwan proposed a solution to password saving and became a "Star of Science"

In August 2020, Dr. Azzam Alwan, graduate of the Lebanese University – Faculty of Technology, was awarded the position of "Senior Responsible for AI Research Department" in one of France’s renowned startups in global health “innovhealth”, and qualified in September 2020 to the Scientific Council session to discuss his idea in the first MENA region scientific program "Stars of Science".

During his participation in the 12th edition of program, sponsored by Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, Dr. Alwan presented a solution to the problem of password saving by creating a software relying on human behavior in drawing on any device that contains an interactive screen, such as a phone or money withdrawal machine and using it as a private signature replacing a password.

Dr. Alwan aspires to develop his idea to reach implementation phase in the largest technology companies such as Apple, Samsung, and others. He graduated from the Faculty of Technology at the Lebanese University in 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in Network & Communications Engineering, and moved to France to pursue higher studies and obtained a PhD in Machine Learning from the University of Technology of Troyes (UTT).

Regarding his studies at the Lebanese University, Dr. Alwan stressed that LU provided him with all basic information needed in his specialization, pointing to the good reputation of the university abroad. He added: “I consider that the National University is the best place to deepen the unity of Lebanon’s youth and cooperate to build their future and the future of their homeland.”

“Stars of Science" is a pioneering program in the Arab world that aims to support and encourage Arab innovators and entrepreneurs in the fields of medical, engineering, environmental and technological sciences and help them develop their businesses to serve their communities in health, lifestyle and environmental preservation. It is broadcasted on Qatar TV, Al Arabi TV, Ruya TV, Al Sumaria TV and YouTube.
