With sorrow and sadness, the President of the Lebanese University, Professor Fouad Ayoub and the Dean of the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences, Professor Ahmed Rabah, mourned Professor Joseph Labaki, who passed away on 2 November 2020.

The Lebanese University extends its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased, his friends and loved ones.

The late professor was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences, Director of its Branch 2 and Head of its History Department. He was also one of the founders of the Faculty centers for languages and translation, and language sciences and communication.

Few years ago, Professor Labaki wrote a reference book on the Maronite expansion in the world entitled: “Maronite Expansion in the World - Reality and Prospects 1840 - 2010”.
