
The Lebanese University successfully concluded the 2nd edition of Brain Week, which was sponsored by President Bassam Badran, and took place between April 15 and 17, 2024.
The scientific event was organized by the Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences Laboratory (MOHAR) of the Faculty of Public Health in collaboration with the Faculty of Medical Sciences, the Doctoral School of Science & Technology and Azm Center for Research and Technology. A group of researchers and students from different disciplines took part in the event, sharing the latest developments in the fields of neuroscience and rehabilitation.
President Badran then delivered a speech in which he stressed the importance of international cooperation and knowledge exchange in advancing neuroscience and improving healthcare, and affirmed the university commitment to strengthening its position as a leading scientific center in the region in order to stimulate interest and investment in this vital field.
In addition, he spoke about the aims of the conference and the effectiveness of using radiography, the latest technologies and AI to understand neurological diseases, in particular incurable diseases such as multiple sclerosis and stroke, as well as effective ways of rehabilitating patients suffering from these diseases at cognitive and behavioral levels.
Finally, President Badran called on LU researchers to actively participate in research work in all disciplines, in order to strengthen the university's role in serving the community and maintain the professional and academic reputation it enjoys in global and regional rankings.
