The Faculty of Medical Sciences celebrated the graduation of its class of 2023-2024, at a ceremony held in the conference room of the Rafic Hariri University Campus - Hadath, in the presence of President Bassam Badran, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Saada Alameh, the President of the Lebanese Doctors Syndicate in Beirut, Professor Youssef Bakhash, a number of deans and directors of faculties and institutes, and a number of professors, administrators and the graduates' families.
President Badran addressed the graduates in the following terms: “You have lived through difficult experiences and trials, you have taken up academic and personal challenges in circumstances that are familiar to everyone, and today you are being rewarded for your perseverance and your will to succeed. You have acquired knowledge, skills and experience that will enable you to make a major difference in the world of medicine. All the doctors who have preceded you in Lebanon and the diaspora, and who have graduated from the Lebanese University, which enjoys the highest professional and academic reputation in the QS 2025 ranking, bear witness to this.
He added: “On this occasion, we have to thank your professors who, thanks to their knowledge, patience and competence, have not only passed on to you their knowledge and experience, but also the fundamental values of the medical profession, represented by compassion, ethics and caring.”
President Badran continued: “New doctors, today we announce that you are joining the White Army, which confers on you the responsibility to continue learning and adapting to a constantly evolving field of work. You will inevitably be confronted with difficult and sometimes complex situations, but never forget the reason why you chose this noble profession, namely “to help, heal and provide healthcare to others”.
President Badran concluded, “I congratulate you on your graduation, so be proud of what you have achieved on the benches of the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the Lebanese University, keep your humility and continue to aspire to excellence, because the world needs doctors who are passionate and dedicated to their profession.”
