The Faculty of Law, Political & Administrative Sciences (French Section) celebrated the graduation of its class of 2023 - 2024, at a ceremony held in the conference room of the Central Administration Building.
The ceremony was attended by President Bassam Badran, the Dean of the FLPAS, Dr. Habib Kazzi, the Director of the section, Dr. Tharwat Al-Zaher, Judge Ali Ibrahim, the Special Attaché for University Cooperation at the French Embassy, Mme. Agnès de Geoffroy and the Special Attaché for Judicial Cooperation at the French Embassy, Ms. Mathilde Pousse, as well as professors from the faculty, legal experts, alumni and graduates' families.
President Badran delivered a speech in which he emphasized that the study of law is not just an academic specialization, but rather a pillar for achieving justice and equality for all, noting that the faculty has helped to prepare executives who hold high positions in Lebanon and in diaspora countries, thanks to skilled professors who have provided students with the knowledge and expertise that has qualified them to become capable of defending the rights of individuals and institutions. President Badran addressed the graduates: “You are about to enter the world of the profession, whether as lawyers, judges or consultants. Remember that the acquisition of knowledge does not stop at the borders of the diploma. Keep asking questions and looking for answers. Be the active force in the process of change and development, and the defenders of justice and the fair application of the law”.
President Badran added: “We hope that you will contribute, as those who have preceded you on this path have done, to developing the legal system by providing innovative solutions and drafting legislation that keeps pace with the times and strengthens the rule of law, which is the basis for the stability and development of any society.”
President Badran congratulated the graduates and their families; without whose invaluable sacrifices the graduates would not have been able to overcome the difficulties and reach this day. At the end of the ceremony, an honorary shield was presented to Mrs. Agnès de Geoffroy, and the bachelor and master students presented an honorary shield to the faculty director.
