The repercussions of the displacement crisis continue in various regions, especially at the level of potable water, which remains within individual initiatives that coordinate with the Lebanese University to provide this vital substance in the shelter centers.
In order to sustainably deliver clean drinking water to IDPs, NGOs are working in coordination with the Lebanese University to test water samples and ensure that they meet scientific and health standards in order to make them drinkable, in addition to installing a special filtration system that converts refined water into drinking water, which has been implemented at the Faculty of Information (Branch 1).
After installing the filtration system, the Lebanese University conducted the necessary tests of the water in the laboratories in Azm Center of the Doctoral School of Science & Technology and found it fit for drinking. These tests will continue to be conducted on a weekly basis and similar filtration systems will be installed in several shelters.
