Academic cooperation protocol between the Lebanese University and the Internal Security Forces
The Lebanese University, represented by its President Dr. Bassam Badran, signed an academic cooperation protocol with the Internal Security Forces, represented by its Director General, Major General Raed Abdullah. The signing took place at the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Ashrafieh, in the presence of a number of deans and professors from the Lebanese University and a group of Internal Security Forces officers.
The protocol (which is valid for two years and renewable) allows master's students specializing in criminal sciences at the Faculty of Science to intern at the Scientific Investigation Department of the Internal Security Forces.
In his speech, President Badran emphasized that this protocol will provide master’s students in Criminal Sciences with a unique opportunity to train and conduct research at the Scientific Investigation Center of the Internal Security Forces. This experience will give them a different perspective on fieldwork mechanisms, enabling them to become national cadres capable of dealing with criminal justice with the highest degrees of efficiency and professionalism.
President Badran pointed out that the partnership between the Lebanese University and the Internal Security Forces has a national and ethical dimension, as it is based on trust and built on a single goal: serving Lebanon, its people, and its institutions.
President Badran noted that the Lebanese University was the first to establish a master’s degree in criminal sciences in 2012 and continues to develop curricula and programs in line with global developments.
Major General Abdullah stressed that the signing of this protocol is the culmination of a clear vision, which includes the understanding that modern security challenges cannot be addressed by traditional means alone, but require the integration of science with reality, the bridging of the gap between knowledge and the field, and the linking of academic expertise with practical professionalism.
