Digital partnership to link education to job market: MoU between LU, CNAM Lebanon, and Suyool
In a move aimed at aligning educational curricula with the demands of the digital job market, a memorandum of understanding was signed between LU Faculty of Economics & Business Administration and the Higher Institute of Applied and Economic Sciences (ISSAE – Cnam Liban) —Rachaya Branch— and Suyool, a leading company in the fields of fintech and digital transformation.
The signing ceremony, which took place at the Central Administration Building, was attended by President Bassam Badran, the Dean of FEBA, Dr. Selim Mekdessi, Member of Parliament Wael Abou Faour, the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Suyool, Mr. Arz El Murr, Director of ISSAE - Cnam-Liban, Dr. Cendrella Abou Fayad, Institute Board members Dr. Walid Safi and Mrs. Nada Talhouk, Director of Rachaya Center Dr. Ibrahim El Bitar, and Head of the Institute’s Relations and Guidance Office, Engineer Roula Hassoun.
The memorandum aims to establish a joint framework that promotes academic innovation and contributes to developing capabilities of students and researchers in vital fields, including financial technology (FinTech), artificial intelligence (AI), data analysis, and digital transformation.
Under the MoU, Suyool commits to providing practical training opportunities (internships) and field experience for economics and business administration students, thereby preparing them for immediate integration into the local and regional job market.
The parties to the MoU will also work to organize specialized workshops, technology seminars, and hackathons, in addition to sponsoring applied graduation projects that simulate the real-world economic and technical challenges faced by organizations today.
The signatories to the MoU noted that this partnership serves as vital model for cooperation between academic institutions and the private sector, emphasizing that investing in young talent and equipping them with skills of digital future is key for achieving sustainable economic development, particularly in outlying areas such as the Rachaya District, in order to empower its youth and build their leadership and technological skills.
