Applications accepted for M1P at the ISS for 2026–2027
The Dean of the Institute of Social Sciences announces that applications are now being accepted from students wishing to enroll in the M1P at the Institute of Social Sciences for the academic year 2026–2027 at its five branches, between 1-22 July 2026 (excluding Fridays).
First: Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the Lebanese University or a recognized university with a duly equivalent degree, or in one of the majors listed below for each master’s program; or holders of bachelor’s degrees outside the listed majors, provided they have professional experience in the intended field of study (with a minimum of two years of experience).
- Overall grade point average of at least 100/55 (i.e., a GPA of at least 5/2.75 according to the grading scale for Lebanese University students)
- Overall grade of at least 100/65 (equivalent to a GPA of at least 5/3.25 according to the grading scale for students outside the Lebanese University)
Second: Admission process for enrollment in a major depends on the student’s successful completion of the following stages:
1. Written exam
2. Oral interview
Note: Students with highest scores will be selected, subject to the capacity of each major.

2- Sociology & Human Resource Management (Branches: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

- Law, Political & Administrative Sciences
- Psychology
- Social Health Work
- Tourism & Hospitality Management
- Public Relations, Journalism
3- Economic and Social Administration (Branches: 1, 4, 5)
- Economics & Business Administration
- Law, Political & Administrative Sciences
4- Psychosocial Counseling and Guidance (Branches: 1, 2, 3, 5)
- Psychology
- Bachelor Teaching Degree in Education and Preparation
- Health Sciences (Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Psychomotor Rehabilitation)
- Theater
Fourth: Required Documents
- Duly certified bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Duly certified detailed transcript of bachelor’s degree transcripts
- Certified copy of the Ministry of Education’s equivalency certificate for students from outside the Lebanese University
- Curriculum vitae
- Motivation letter of motivation in which the student states the main reasons for choosing to enroll in the master’s program.
- The student should submit the documents to the department in which they intend to enroll.
Fifth: The written exam for students who have met the requirements is scheduled for Tuesday, 8 September 2026. Oral interview dates will be set only for those who pass the written exam on 15 and 16 September 2026.
Sixth: Following the official announcement of the results and the branches’ receipt of their respective lists, a specific timeframe will be set during which students are required to confirm their enrollment in the program and complete administrative registration. Any student who fails to register will forfeit their right to enroll in the program, and their place will be taken by the next-lowest-ranked accepted candidate.
Notes:
1. Candidates whose applications were not accepted may withdraw their files from the department within three weeks of the announcement of results.
2. No application will be accepted if it does not include the required qualifications and all necessary documents.
3- Students may apply for more than one major (provided they meet the requirements).
