Centre MINE: Skill-Up, Match-Up Project - Business Expert

Centre MINE proudly announces the Skill-Up, Match-Up Project funded by Spark (Holland NGO) and operated by Al Moltaqa in cooperation with LPA (Lebanese Programmers Association) and EDC (Economic Development Council).

Business Expert: for business students at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration 3rd Branch

 

·         Intensive training and working experience for Master and Bachelor students

·         Semester 1 (Skill-Up): Lectures/Workshops for 15 weekly sessions and 3 hours per session

·         Evaluation: at the end of the Skill-Up period and after an evaluation test in addition to attendance and trainer’s feedback, we will nominate the students for the Match-Up period.

·         Semester 2 (Match-Up): passed students will have the chance to get support for 3 months during one of the following:

§  Internship: in ‘potential employer’ private sectors (we will try to get a minimum commitment to hiring them) under the supervision of experts.

§  Entrepreneurship: passionate student having an idea of a project with a good chance to be a beneficiary business will be supported by both computer and business experts to develop and create his business. We may create a partnership between business and software developers to create a business.

1. Description

The main challenge in our region is to manage the available resources (as discussed previously), to spin the wheels of production, and to create opportunities by creating partnerships between the different production elements: resources, knowhow, capital, and management.

This program is very important and will be guided to provide business graduated students with all needed packages and ground experiences from experts (20+ years working experience in business fields) and support students to implement the theory and courses in practical projects.

At the end of the training, the trainee will be able:

·         Create market analyses for any product (i.e. programs products)

·         Introduce a new product to the market (budgeting, marketing, etc.).

·         Control the quality of the product and follow up with the relevant documentation

·         Distribute the product in the local and international markets.

·         Follow the partnership finance and accounts.

·         Familiar with tax law and its practices.

·         Experience with official documents preparation: salaries permits, wages, family security permits, etc.

·         Experience with Balance Sheet and Calculating the Result.

·         Inventory movement in/out of goods and determination of part cost.

 

2. Modules

Business Expert Curriculum is composed into:

A.      Lectures/Workshops for 45 hours during the first semester:

a.      Overview of Quality History, Changes in Quality Standards, Principle of the latest standards:

§  Introduction to Quality Control Management Systems

§  Establishment of QMS and the history of its development.

§  The improvements of QMS through its implementation

§  The New Quality Management Systems

§  The 7 principles of ISO 9001: 2105

§  Understand the implementations of the principles of the organization

§  Adaptations of the standard’s clauses and their implementation

§  Standards documentation requirements

§  Auditing under the new standard

b.      Bridging the gap between theoretical and actual sales and marketing strategies:

§  Introduction to Sales Department and Functions

§  Sales vs Marketing

§  Product Lifecycle / Value Chain

§  4Ps Overview

§  Distribution Channels

§  Cost Structure and Pricing

§  Sales Strategies

c.       Overview of Project Lifecycle from Conception to Implementation

§  Introduction to Project Management

§  The Project Manager

§  Project Lifecycle

§  Project Organization/Chart/KPI

d.      Overview of Accounting and Finance in commercial and Industrial Companies

§  Introduction to Accounting

§  Accounting and Finance Department and Functions

§  Accounting Chart

§  Journal / Daily Movement Migration

§  Preparing the Ledger

§  Preparing the trial balance

§  Preparing the result statement and balance sheet.

§  Preparing company official permits with different government departments.

 

B.      Specialized monthly Online Seminars in Cooperation with business experts and owners (up to 10 sessions), at the end of each seminar, participants will respond to evaluation questions.

 

C.      Internship in partner companies during the second semester under the supervision and support of senior business experts:

·         Each 2 to 3 students will work on a project.

·         At the end of this period, passed students will have all the needed skills and experience to be engaged in a full-time job in different business vacancies.

·         Their progress in each project will nominate them to be engaged in the next entrepreneurship/internship program.

 

D.     Internship for 3 months

·         Entrepreneurship/Internship for 3 months for every student passed the training period and having hire commitment from the partner company.

·         Supporting 9 teams (up to 30 students) passed the internship and proved high seriousness and progress in their project.

·         We may create a partnership with Software Developer Expert graduate students.

·         Support will cover business mentoring

 

3. Outcomes

Every passed student will receive a Certification of Achievement from Al Moltaqa and Lebanese Programmers Association.

At the end of the training, the trainee will be able to understand and know:

·         The History, upgrades, and the principles of the new Quality Management System.

·         The Sales functions and strategies.

·         The Project Management Approach, and the Project Lifecycle.

·         The accounting principles, post the accounting operations, and prepare the financial statements.

·         This training will allow him to work in:

·         The Quality Control department in the various types of commercial and industrial companies.

·         The Sales department in the various types of commercial and industrial companies.

·         The Projects department in the various types of commercial and industrial companies.

·         The accounting department in the various types of commercial and industrial companies.

 

But the main outcome we are looking for is to create entities managed by the Business Experts and other programs' participants than we will help them to incubate their projects for the starting period and investors if needed.
