The Lebanese University - Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture and the National School of Architecture of Paris-Belleville organized a workshop entitled "Managing risks within an urban and heritage scope" in cooperation with the Francophone University Agency (AUF) and Saida Municipality.
First year Master’s students from the Department of Building Regulation supervised by Dr. Salahuddin Sadeq, Head of Department, Dr. Mosbah Rajab, Coordinator of the Professional Urban Renewal and Dr. Elie Khattar, Event Coordinator, participated in the Lebanese-French workshop that took place from 9-14 December 2019.
The workshop aims to learn about the heritage and historical landmarks of Saida and contribute to the preparation of university researches for the restoration and rehabilitation of Khan Al-Riz and Monastery of the Latins. The students made field visits to places and institutions, including the Secretariat of the Disaster and Crisis Management Committee in the South of Lebanon, during which Mona Nasser, the Secretary gave a detailed explanation of the Committee achievements and plans in preparation and response since 2015, namely in ancient Saida.
