LU students participate in a research training session at Beiteddine Palace

Students from the Department of Arts & Archaeology at the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences — Branch 5 and others from the Department of Life & Earth Sciences at the Faculty of Science — Branch 2, participated in a research training session organized by the MeSAP and REVEAL projects in coordination with the University of Insubria at Beiteddine Palace.

Over the course of two days, participants were introduced to the latest archaeological research methodologies through:

- Topographic surveying

- Advanced digital documentation technologies

- Archaeological artefact analysis

- Archaeozoology studies

- Reconstruction of historical landscapes through integrated archaeological and paleoenvironmental data

The training program combined theoretical lectures and hands-on activities, offering young Lebanese researchers an invaluable opportunity to develop new skills, exchange knowledge, and strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration.

This initiative further reinforces cooperation between academic institutions and the Directorate General of Antiquities, promoting the protection, preservation, and enhancement of Lebanon’s extraordinary cultural heritage through innovative and multidisciplinary approaches.
