The deanship of the FFAA welcomes a delegation from AIMF

A delegation from the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF) visited the deanship of the Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture, where they were received by the dean, Dr. Hisham Zeineddine, in the presence of Dr. Nina Zeidan, chair of the Department of Landscape and Environmental Architecture, along with a number of the department’s faculty members and students.

The delegation included:

  • Mrs. Fatimetou Abdel-Malik, Mayor of Nouakchott;
  • Mrs. Audrey Pulvar, Deputy Mayor of Paris in charge of international relations, Europe, and the Francophonie;
  • Mr. Benoit Herzbrun, Deputy General Delegate for International Relations of the City of Paris;
  • Mrs. Julie Guillaume, Director of Communications and Institutional Relations at the AIMF;
  • Mrs. Arianna Ardesi, Director of Cooperation and Partnerships at the AIMF;
  • Mr. Frédéric Vallier, Executive Director of the AIMF;
  • Mr. Alexandre Bridi, Member of the Beirut City Council.

The event provided a forum for dialogue that allowed students to express their vision for the future of their cities and their role as tomorrow’s planners and contributors to shaping the urban environment.

Discussions addressed the challenges of housing and urban living, climate change, and the role of landscapes and the environment in designing more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient cities.

The event underscored the importance of involving young people in thinking about urban transformations, listening to their aspirations and proposals, and creating opportunities for them to contribute to shaping the future of cities.

It is noteworthy that the Master’s Program in Landscape and Environmental Architecture is participating in an international competition organized by the Association, the results of which will be announced soon.
