Under the slogan "For a clean environment, reducing pollutants and recovering the largest percentage of recyclable materials", and with a grant from USAID and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and within the project "Al-Fayhaa Tafroz", two sorting containers were delivered to the Lebanese University - Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences (Branch 3-Tripoli).
This step comes as part of a project aimed at distributing such containers to universities, schools, official and private institutes and organizations in Tripoli, with the support of the Federation of Municipalities of Al-Fayhaa, Tripoli, Al-Mina, Al-Baddawi and Qalamoun, and in cooperation with Lavajet and AMB Contracting.
The handover process was supervised by the Regional Director of Projects in the North and Akkar, Bilal Al-Hussein, Eng. Zafer Al-Samarji representing the Municipality of Tripoli, and the Head of the Cleaning Department in the Municipality of Tripoli, Eng. Mazen Bazarbashi, in the presence of the Director of the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences (Branch 3), Dr. Jacqueline Ayoub, representatives of "Voice of Students" and the Operations Officer in “Al Fayhaa Tafroz”, Amer Bakour.
Hussein and Al-Samarji explained the importance and dimensions of this environmental project, announcing the creation of 23 sorting points in the streets of Tripoli, the aim of which is to enhance the volume of separations and rational disposal of waste.
It is noteworthy that the delivery process was accompanied by the distribution of awareness posters to students. In the coming weeks, an orientation seminar will be held at the Branch 3 under the guidance of specialists and experts in the field.
