Professor Fouad Ayoub, President of the Lebanese University (LU), received at his office in the Central Administration Building, members of the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (Hcéres) headed by Prof. Manuel Royo, Prof. Anne Vial Logeay, Scientific Advisor and Prof., Cédric Brun, Sophie Rochefort_Guillouet, Nicole D’almeida, Marie-France Chambat-Houillon, Vila Martine and Adrian Foucher, in the presence of Prof. Zeinab Saad, General Coordinator of the International Relations Office.
The delegation informed President Ayoub of the meetings held in the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences (FLHS) and the Faculty of Information, in response to their request to evaluate their academic programs.
Prior to the meeting with President Ayoub, a series of meetings were held by the French delegation with Prof. Ahmed Rabah, FLHS Dean and Prof. George Sadaqah, Dean of the Faculty of Information and representatives of directors, heads of departments, coordinators and professors, with the aim of evaluating the curricula based on the two scientific reports sent earlier by the faculties.
The French delegation's visit program, which lasted for 3 days, was organized by two committees that participated with other professors in writing the two reports. The committees included Dr. Maha Jarjour and Dr. Marwan Abi Fadel from the FLHS and Dr. Nisrine Zammar from the Faculty of Information.
In a remarkable humanitarian initiative, the French delegation made an individual financial contribution, which will be placed in the Fund recently established by President Ayoub to support LU students who are unable to pay the tuition fees (Decision No. 3558).
