The Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture honored actress and academic Julia Kassar at a ceremony attended by President Bassam Badran, Dean Hicham Zeineddine, the President of the Executive Council of the League of Full-time Contractual Professors, Dr. Antoine Charbel, branch directors, faculty representatives, heads of departments, and a host of artists and students.

President Bassam Badran praised FFAA achievements as a key faculty in developing society and achieving a balance between cultural, artistic and social life.

President Badran noted that the tribute to the great actress Julia Kassar comes after she won the Murex D'or-2024 award for creativity in acting for her outstanding performance in “The Godfather of Beirut”.

He declared: “Julia Kassar is more than just an actress; she is an interpretive force who combines a sincere performance with a profound capacity for expression... She is also a human being who carries in her heart the passion of art, the love of the public and the love of the Lebanese University, from which she graduated in 1987”.

President Badran added: “Julia Kassar is a dedicated academic who has always strived to pass on her expertise and knowledge to new generations. As a professor at the FFAA, she has contributed to the development of a career path that has enhanced the skills of graduates.”

President Badran addressed the artist: “Your achievements have inspired new generations and proved that art is a message that can change the world for the better, and on this occasion, we renew our thanks and appreciation for all you have done, and look forward to seeing more of your creations in the future.”

For his part, the Dean of the FFAA, Dr. Hicham Zeineddine, underlined the merits of Julia who, along with her colleagues, has contributed to the training of hundreds of actors and directors who have become stars of Lebanese and international art, considering her a great artistic and humanitarian value and an honorable model of the personality of the true Lebanese artist.
