The Faculty of Economic Sciences and Business Administration - Branch 2 hosted Elie Abboud, President of the Lebanese Association of Certified Public Accountants, who presented a seminar entitled “Shaping the Future of the Accountancy profession”, in the presence of Dr. Selim Mekdissi, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Abeer Tarabay, Branch Director, and a group of professors and students.
At the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Tarabay pointed out that this seminar is the first of a series of seminars that will be organized successively during the academic year 2024-2025, calling on students to take advantage of Mr. Abboud's expertise in the field of accounting and auditing.
Mr. Abboud addressed the most prominent challenges facing the accounting profession, explaining the concepts of the accountant's job and the importance of his role in enhancing confidence in the company, pointing out the risks facing the “auditor” such as material errors in the company's accounts.
He emphasized that Lebanese University graduates are among the elite graduates and leaders in their careers, announcing that the opportunity to train outstanding graduates for free at the Association is available at the rate of two students per course (Forensic Audit Diploma), which lasts forty hours.
