On the occasion of "World Autism Awareness Day" and under the slogan "Our Day, Your Support: Our Hope", “Pygmalion” for persons with disabilities, represented by its director Mrs. Jamila Abdel Ahad, participated in a lecture held at the Lebanese University - Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences (Branch 3).
The lecture was attended by Dr. Jacqueline Ayoub, Faculty Director, Dr. Ghada Harouk, Head of Psychology Department, and a number of Psychology Department doctors and students.
Mrs. Abdel Ahad addressed the topic of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and its new classification, causes and methods of treatment, and provided a historical overview of the school and its operation.
The lecture aimed to spread cultural awareness on autism, which will positively reflect on case-finding and succeeding in early intervention programs, care, rehabilitation, and social and civil participation, in order to develop services and care needed by autistic people and their families.
