Fatima Hammoud, a graduate of the Faculty of Science, won the 2024 thesis prize awarded by the University of Strasbourg, on the theme "Study of new photo initiator systems for the synthesis of polymers for 3D printing or composites".
Dr. Hammoud's thesis (specializing in materials chemistry) has added a qualitative dimension to the field of eco-friendly composite material preparation and associated experimental techniques.
The thesis, part of which has been published in several international scientific journals, was prepared and completed under the joint supervision of Dr. Akram Hijazi of the Lebanese University and Dr. Jacques Lalevée of the University of Strasbourg.
Dr. Hammoud confirms that she is a descendant of the Lebanese University, where she received the basics of chemistry and environmental sciences, and thanks to which she reached the stage of PhD student, then that of success to figure among the youngest researchers in her field of specialization.
Dr. Hammoud holds a BA in Chemistry and an MSc in Water Sciences from the Faculty of Science at the Lebanese University.
