في اطار مشاركة الجامعة اللبنانية بالمؤتمرالعالمي لرؤساء الجامعات الذي يقام لمناسبة يوبيل الجامعات ومراكز البحوث ومؤسسات التعليم العالي الفني في روما من 7 الى 11 أيلول 2016، قام رئيس الجامعة اللبنانية د. عدنان السيد حسين بمداخلة حول أهمية تطوير التعليم العالي والانفتاح على العالم والتعاون الاقليمي والدولي لتحقيق السلام العالمي وقد جاء فيها:

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I would like to thank the organizers and attendees of this event.

The Lebanese University, being the only public university in Lebanon, followed the same strategy in order to develop its higher education, opening up to the world. This strategy will never be achieved without the true faith in world peace and human rights.

The Lebanese University, in collaboration with multiple universities in Italy, La Sapienza University in Rome, Genova University in Genoa, and Cagliari University in Sardinia, and in collaboration with the Italian embassy in Beirut, developed a master’s program in peace and development for the graduates of the following majors: political studies, economics, and law. In the Lebanese University, we believe in the necessity of the regional and international cooperation to maintain world peace under the umbrella of the international law.

The internationally accredited degree of the Lebanese university is based on educational sobriety, commitment, and patriotism.

Our participation in this conference reinforces our direction at the University that aims to collaborate with international universities from the East and West, it also reinforces our deep belief in the cultural and educational exchange among international countries in order to achieve world peace.
