The Lebanese University Chess team won the University Chess Championship “Universities Tournament” held at Beirut Arab University with the participation of 12 teams representing 7 universities.

The LU team, composed of Abd al-Rahman Iaali, Abdullah Khalouf, Issa Wehbe, Ahmad Rabah and Ralph Khairallah (Captain), scored 20 points in 6 rounds, followed by the Arab University team and the American University of Beirut.

The organization of the tournament was supervised by the Officer in charge of the game at the Universities Federation and Sports Activity at the Lebanese University (Branches 2), international referee Elie Khairallah, and international referee Jacques Badrosian.
