According to the memorandum of understanding signed with the Ministry of Industry, the Lebanese University participated, through the Lebanese Food Drugs and Chemicals Administration (LFDCA), in the Ministry's campaign to ensure food safety.
48 masters and PhD students from the Faculty of Public Health and the Doctoral School of Science and Technology, as well as the Ministry's technical teams, participated in the periodic inspection of industrial establishments to monitor the implementation of basic food safety standards.
Disclosure included the collection of data from the stages of production, starting from the receipt of raw materials to the presentation of the final product, in order to ensure that food production safety requirements are met before they are placed on the market.
It noteworthy that the Lebanese University - LFDCA periodically transmits the results of the tests sent by the Litani River Authority and food establishments related to water and food contamination, in order to demonstrate their conformity to "ISO" and "LIBNOR" standards.
