Ali Kanaan, 1st year student of Physical Education & Sports at the Faculty of Pedagogy, won the 1st place at the Lebanese Cross Country Championship 2022, for age groups under 20 years old, organized by the Lebanese Athletics Federation, on 6 March 2022, at the Notre-Dame College in Jamhour.
During the "Turkey National Indoor Championship", which took place from 24-28 February 2022, Ali participated in the 1,500- and 3,000-meter races and was able to break the Lebanese national records in both distances.
The student had won the title of Lebanese champion in the Lebanese Federation Cup for age groups 2021, in the category of youth under 20 years, in the races of 5,000 and 10,000 meters.
Ali, who is currently preparing to participate in the Arab Youth Athletics Championship in Egypt this May, said, “I chose to join the Lebanese University for its academic reputation in the local and international job market”.
