Date of entrance exams for the Master's in “Cinematography” and “Film Directing” at the FFAA for the academic year 2026–2027
The Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture announces:
a. The application period for the entrance exam for the Master’s degree in “Cinematography” and “Film Directing” will be from 11 May to 30 July 2026 and between 1-4 September 2026, during official working hours at Branch 2 building – Forn al-Chebbak.
b. Written exams will be held on 8 September 2026.
c. Oral interviews will be held for admitted students on 11 September 2026 following file review.
Applications for this competition should be submitted with the following documents:
1- Copy of the high school diploma (Secondary School Certificate, Part II) or its official equivalent
2- Copy of a university degree in film or audiovisual studies: a diploma or bachelor’s degree requiring a minimum of three years of study (six full semesters).
Note: The degree should be officially recognized if issued by a university other than the Lebanese University.
3- Official, signed transcript of university grades
4- Portfolio (containing works created by the candidate)
5- The application booklet consists of a page in which the student outlines the reasons and motivations for their desire to enroll in the desired program, and a page detailing the proposal for the research-based artistic project the student intends to complete during the master’s program. It also includes a presentation and description of the research-based artistic project (film directing or cinematography) to be developed and completed during the two years of the master’s program, in which the student clearly, accurately, and distinctively explains their artistic and research objectives and ideas, presenting the fundamental concepts and questions in the project (film) that drive the artist-researcher to delve deeper into aesthetics, theories, and cinematic language, as well as in the development of creative artistic practice and its aesthetic frameworks—sound, image, light, acting, scenography, screenplay, cinematography, and directing....
6- CV (signed and detailed)
7- Certified copy of ID or civil status record
8- (2) Two certified passport photos
9- Proof of at least one year of documented professional experience after obtaining a diploma or bachelor’s degree
10- Graduates of the Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture at the Lebanese University—Department of Cinema & Television—are exempt from the one-year professional experience requirement. This is contingent upon the student having received a grade of 80 /100 or higher on their graduation project
11- Financial stamp worth LBP 50,000
12- Participation fee: LBP 1,000,000
