The Institute of Social Sciences - Branch 2 was inaugurated in the academic year 1977-1978 in Sabtieh area, following the Cabinet Decision ordering the establishment of branches of the Lebanese University in the provinces.
Later on, the building of the said Branch was moved to Rabieh in 1978-1979, Street No. 33. The Branch is characterized by providing courses in three languages: Arabic, French and English.
Since its establishment, it has been holding conferences and seminars addressing most social and economic issues with Lebanese and foreign researchers.
The faculty includes the following specializations:
1- Bachelor in Social Sciences.
2- Research Master 1 & 2 in:
- Social and Economic Development.
- Anthropology
- Social Psychology
- Social Pedagogy
3- Professional Master 1 & 2 in Sociology and Human Resources Management.
