The Lebanese University - Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences (Branch 5, Sidon) was established in 1978. Dr. Mofid Kahwaji followed by a number of directors managed the Faculty, which is currently headed by Dr. Nassif Nehme.
The Faculty operates in five buildings and hosts around 5,700 students and 216 professors distributed between tenured, full-time and adjunct professors.
The Faculty includes eight specializations:
1- Arabic Language and Literature
2- French Language and Literature
3- English Language and Literature
4- Arts and Archeology
5- Psychology
6- History
7- Geography
8- Philosophy.
